PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method for a charge transfer apparatus, capable of achieving a floating diffusion region (charge voltage conversion part) of a wide dynamic range. SOLUTION: A predetermined timing pulseϕOG is supplied to a horizontal output gate part 6, the potential of a floating diffusion area 7 is supplied deep via a coupling capacitance, and a range of signal charge processing is expanded large. The pulseϕOG is changed from a low level to a high level, in an time interval between after a pulse of a reset gate part 11 are changed from a high level to a low level and before the signal charges are transported from a charge transfer part 3 to the diffusion region 7, and the pulseϕOG is changed from a high level to a low level, before the timing of the pulse of the gate part 11 is changed from a low level to a high level.
