PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably select a laser oscillation wavelength fast by eliminating a mechanical adjusting mechanism in a system performing visible light laser oscillation and to make a laser device simple and small-sized. SOLUTION: Two kinds of ion elements of Yb and Nd are introduced into one laser rod and several laser oscillation beams outputted from the respective ion elements are selectively laser-oscillated by a wavelength selecting element. The laser light beams are converted into visible light through nonlinear crystal to realize laser light beams of red, green, and blue. Consequently, a laser system does not have any part which mechanically operates and the device structure becomes simple, so that the device can be made small-sized and stable. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
