A tool adapted to remove a fencing component attached to a post by a fastener including a head with a bearing surface and a claw with at least two protrusions, and a handle attached to the head to manipulate the claw. The protrusions are spaced apart to straddle at least part of the post to enable the claw to engage the fencing component from a position behind the plane where the fastener attaches the component to the post while the bearing surface abuts the post on the plane.
