PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to recover the performance of a degraded secondary battery through an electric processing and enable it to be used again normally and to develop a regenerating apparatus. SOLUTION: According to the regenerating method and device, an appropriate DC pulse current in accordance with the battery specifications, terminal voltage, and battery capacity is allowed to flow to the secondary battery with the performance degraded, and a charging process having appropriate intervals is conducted automatically. Thereby a used secondary battery which is otherwise disposed of, can be reused upon regeneration efficiently. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
