<p>Disclosed is a device by means of which metallic load bearing structures of type IPN, IPE, HPN, and HPE having a two-core profile or other specific profiles can be used as the main supply system for automatic fire sprinkler systems. Said supply system cools the metallic load bearing structure due to the fact that the metallic load bearing structure is supplied with liquid once the fire sprinkler system has been triggered and the sprinkling liquid is sprayed onto the fire. The inventive device is particularly suitable for tall buildings, shopping centers, and sensitive sites that are difficult to save in case of a major fire. The inventive sprinkling liquid controls or confines the fire while maintaining the rigidity of the metallic load bearing structure by preventing said metallic load bearing structure from reaching the plastic phase. The system turns paradoxical as the flow of liquid circulating between the cores increases the more the blaze intensifies, cooling the metallic load bearing structures, thereby preventing said metallic load bearing structures from bending.</p> |
