<p>A system and method for railroad cab signal quality detection and reporting for use in connection with a railroad cab signaling system (100) in which a status signal (118) is carried on a railroad rail (102 or 104). The status signal (118) has a cab signal parameter (126) that is indicative of a status of a zone of track. A signal detector (112 or 114) detects the status signal (118) transmitted via the railroad rail (102 or 104). A signal measurement subsystem (310) associated with the signal detector (112 or 114) measures the cab signal parameter (126). A quality analysis subsystem (312) analyzes the measured cab signal parameter (202) and determines a measure of quality of the cab signal parameter (126). The system may include equipment that is mounted on a rail vehicle (106), such as a locomotive, or mounted along a block of track, or on portable equipment. The system may also include a cab signal quality collection and reporting equipment (400). The method includes detecting the cab status signal (118) and measuring the cab signal parameter (126) from the detected status signal (202). The measure of quality of the measured cab signal parameter (126) is determined and is reported.</p> |
