An adjusting device for a motor vehicle hinged door comprises a cog (7) which axially moves a rod (8) having side teeth (9) which is connected to a movement transmission unit. The device (6) is fitted into the motor vehicle door (1) and the movement transmission member (11) is joined to a motor vehicle pillar (3). Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a device as above also having an interrupting unit; and (b) the interrupting unit above.
