The balanced accelerator consists of two rotatable discs (2,3) of equal weight mounted around a central cylinder (1). Bodies in the form of balls (4,5) of equal weight which are to be accelerated are located on the discs. The discs rotate in opposite directions and are set in rotation by a drive located on the central cylinder. A tilting mechanism may be provided in the middle of the cylinder.
