Hydrodynamic bearing has a shaft (10) that is fixed at one end to a rotating component and a bearing housing (12), whereby the bearing housing has a groove pattern that at least forms a radial bearing section. A bearing space (24) between the shaft and housing is linked with a compensation volume via micro-channel connection channel. Said channel extends in a direction that is not parallel to the bearing rotation axis (22). The invention also relates to a corresponding spindle motor and hard disk drive with such a spindle motor.
