A display comprises a display section, a pattern specifying code input section for entering a pattern specifying code externally, a pattern storage section for storing therein an image of a predetermined pattern, a pattern displaying section for reading out the image of the pattern specified by the pattern specifying code from the pattern storage section and displaying the image on the display section. Thus the load on the host to display an image can be reduced.
