HEAD STACK ASSEMBLY FOR HARD DISK DRIVE

PURPOSE: A head stack assembly for a hard disk drive is provided to stably rotate a head stack assembly by minimizing relative reaction force generated in a pivot bearing in driving a voice coil motor, thereby reducing a position error between a magnetic head and a track of a disk. CONSTITUTION: An actuator(403a) is rotatively installed at a pivot(403p). A load beam(403b) is extended from one end of the actuator. A magnetic head(403h) is fixed at an end of the load beam for reading data recorded on a magnetic disk. A voice coil motor(404) is combined with the other end of the actuator for providing driving force for a rotary motion of the actuator. The pivot is installed at a point where a center of rotation and a center of shock of a head stack assembly(403) coincide with each other.
