The glass panel door or window has two parallel panes (5) of glass with edge closure (1) with groove (11) to hold fitment or function part (door rail 2). This holding groove and at least a section of the fitment or function part engaging therein have conical complementary cross-sections, preferably cut in at an angle of about 20 degrees. The engaging section of the fitment or function part preferably extends lengthwise along the holding groove.
