The invention relates to a computer system which permits the generation and allocation of numbers based on a real time stamp. At present, certain games, such as lotteries, for example, use one or several modes for allocation of numbers to players, such as personal choice, random attribution or choice of a ticket with a pre-printed number. The invention comprises using the time factor and particularly the numerical values thereof (date, time, etc.), as means for generation and allocation of one or several numbers, or one or several codes which can correspond to the said time value at a given moment. The invention uses the system of real time stamping, a method particularly used in time certification and authorisation. According to the invention, a computer system is connected to a clocking device or a clock which defines the passing of time in a numerical manner to the required precision: year, month, day, hour, minute, second etc. Said computer system converts said different numerical time values at each moment into a succession or series of figures, thus comprising a number. Said number may be more or less volatile according to the precision of the process (thousandths of a second for example). The numbers may be translated, converted or defined by letters, symbols, abbreviations images etc. according to the application or the game, for example as playing cards. If, for example, at the moment of participating it was 18H 24mn 15 sec 98/100 s, the player is thus attributed the number 18241598. According to the invention, a computer system coupled to a clock/clocking device gives a number corresponding to a precise moment at that moment and can be used for generation of an access code for example. The invention is particularly suitable for games using computer systems and for systems which require the generation of codes.
