The invention concerns a circular cutter disc for a handheld tool, a handheld told with a cutting disc with inspection openings and protective screen and a use of the cutter disc. The cutter disc is with radial and axial chip passages and has radially staggered cemented carbide cutting edges. The handheld tool has a protective screen at the outlet of the cutter disc. The tool according to the invention is inter alia suited for use in cutting hoofs, aluminium, Plexiglas, PVC, iron, stone, wood and for rasping tyres prior to rerubberising. The disc is made with radial chip passages, and immediately behing the cutting edge, at the rear edge of the radial chip passage, there are inspection openings that also act as axial chip passages. The radial and axial chip passages together ensure optimal discharge of chips from the area machined and simultaneously reduces the weight of the cutter disc. Furthermore, the cutter disc according to the invention has the surprising advantage that due to its very "open" disc design, optimal cooling of the cutter process itself is effected. In this way is enabled machining of materials, in particular aluminium and PVC among others, without the tool heating up the work piece, with bad surface quality as result.
