The bearing may be mounted above or underneath a deck. It incorporates a cylindrical housing with a flat top plate (6). It contains a piston (10) with a support plate (8) and a base ring (9). Resilience is provided by stacks of Belleville springs (7) below and above the piston. A shaft or column (4) may be connected to the piston by a ball joint (12.1). A ball joint (2) at the top connects the column to the equipment to be supported.
