This invention relates to polymorphisms in the human GPR10 gene and to corresponding novel allelic peptides encoded thereby. The invention also relates to methods and materials for analysing allelic variation in the GPR20 gene, and to the use of GPR10 polymorphism in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in which modulation of GPR10 activity could be of therapeutic benefit, particularly disease states associated with the regulation of metabolism such as obesity, non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, insulin resistance syndrome, dislipidemia and atherosclerosis. |
