It is intended to provide an excellent drug delivery system toward the posterior segment of eyeball. A subconjunctival injection containing fine grains containing a drug which enables the migration of the drug into the posterior chamber of eyeball. By the subconjunctival administration of the drug-containing fine grains, the drug can be efficiently delivered into the posterior chamber of eyeball (retina, choroid, optic nerve, etc.) while scarcely injuring eye tissues. It is favorable that these fine grains are ma de of a synthetic biodegradable polymer and have an average grain size of from 50 nm to 150 .mu.m and the drug is uniformly dispersed in the fine grains. Preferable examples of the drug include anti-inflammatory agents, immunosuppressants, antiviral agents, anticancer agents, angiogenesis inhibitors, optic nerve protecting agents, antibacterial agents or antifunga l agents.
