<p>It is possible to improve the discharge characteristic of the spark plug. A main body (21) is made of a regular hexagonal plate having pieces (23) protruding downward from the sides of the hexagonal plate. A belt-shaped connection member (22) is brazed onto one of the pieces (23) to constitute a grounding member (20) formed of spring steel and its connection member (22) is connected to a grounding wire (25). Via a relief hole (24) arranged in the hexagonal plate, the main body (21) is placed from the top end of an insulator (1) of the spark plug (10). The pieces (23) are engaged with the circumferential surface of the hexagonal nut. The end of the grounding wire (25) is connected to a minus electrode (11) of a battery. Thus, electric charge generated by discharge in the spark plug (G) reaches the minus electrode (11) of the battery from the outer side electrode (3) via a housing (4), the grounding member (20), and the grounding wire (25). Accordingly, even if there is a loose portion between the spark plug (10) and a cylinder head (H), or even if the constituting members of the engine main body are deteriorated, this does not affect the charge flow. Thus, it is possible to prevent lowering of discharge characteristic.</p> |
