The invention relates to a method for treating and/or processing a blend of substances, consisting of at least two transportable constituents, in a multi-shaft extruder comprising several rotatable shafts arranged in a cavity of an extruder housing (2) in the shape of a crown, in particular in a circle, said shafts having treating and transport elements that intermesh and run along the extruder parallel to the axial direction of the latter in a process chamber (4) between an internal wall (6) lying radially on the interior and an external wall (8) lying radially on the exterior. According to the method: at least one first transportable constituent is fed into the extruder and transported and processed through the latter by means of the rotating shafts; at least one second transportable constituent is fed into the extruder and added to the first constituent(s); the first constituent(s) and the second constituent(s) are transported and treated/processed together in the extruder by means of the rotating shafts and a product obtained by said treatment/processing of the blend of substances is dispensed from the extruder. The invention is characterized in that the addition step (A1, A2, ..., A12, B1, B2, ..., B6) takes place at several points in the process chamber (4).
