An ink jet head, comprising a flow passage unit having a plurality of pressure chambers (10) and an actuator unit (21) varying the volumes of the plurality of pressure chambers (10) fixed to one surface of the flow passage unit, wherein the actuator unit (21) is formed in a laminated structure having four sheets of piezoelectric sheets (41) to (44) stacked thereon, individual electrodes are formed only on the uppermost piezoelectric sheet (41) positioned on the opposite side thereof to the side fixed to the flow passage unit at positions corresponding to the pressure chambers (10), and a common electrode (34) maintained at a constant potential is formed on the surface of the uppermost piezoelectric sheet (41) on a flow passage unit side.
