<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side air bag system including an air bag which is accommodated in a door and capable of eliminating the risk of interference of an occupant with the air bag going to be spread. <P>SOLUTION: The side air bag system for protection of the occupant includes an air bag 8 which is spread between the occupant and the vehicle body side wall when an inflator 10 is ignited in conformity to the signal given by an acceleration sensor at a collision of a vehicle, wherein the air bag 8 is interposed between an outer panel 5 and inner panel 6 of each door 1, and it is arranged so that the air bag 8 is spread to the space between the outer 5 and inner panels 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
