PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a navigation system to calculate the accurate toll of a vehicle by specifying the latest interchange from which the vehicle enters into a toll road even when the communication with the on-vehicle device of the vehicle becomes impossible. SOLUTION: In the navigation system, an information center transmits route information prepared by retrieving a route meeting a demand from the on-vehicle device of the vehicle to the on-vehicle device, and the on-vehicle device gives route guidance to the driver of its own vehicle based on the route information. The on-vehicle device has a traveled locus preserving means which preserves the information on the traveled locus of the vehicle under an uncommunicable condition, a transmitting means which transmits the information on the traveled locus when communication is restored, and a receiving means which receives toll information from the information center. The device also has an informing means which informs the driver of the vehicle of the toll information. The information center has a traveled route estimating means which estimates the traveled route of the vehicle under the uncommunicable condition based on the information on the traveled locus of the vehicle received from the on-vehicle device, a toll information preparing means which prepares the toll information based on the traveled route and a route retrieved after the communication is restored, and a transmitting means which transmits the toll information.
