PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet multiple disc clutch capable of suppressing initial abrasion of not only a clutch plate (a counter material) but also a clutch disc (frictional material). SOLUTION: The wet multiple disc clutch C comprises the clutch disc 18 made of carbon-carbon composite material and the clutch plate 19 frictionally engaging with the clutch disc 18. The relation Rpk≤98,000/HV2is established between an initial abrasion height Rpk on the frictional surface of the clutch plate 19 and a surface hardness HV of the frictional surface 19a of the clutch plate 19.
