PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust manifold in which a permanent set of a bead is hard to occur by preventing an excess force from applying to the bead of a metallic gasket. SOLUTION: In the manifold 3, a part 3a abutting against the bead 2b of the metallic gasket 2 is recessed with respect to a part 3b abutting against a part other than the bead 2b of the metallic gasket 2, and the part 3a and the part 3b are different in level. When the exhaust manifold 3 is mounted to a cylinder head 1 via the metallic gasket 2, seal of an exhaust gas is performed by deforming the bead 2b of the metallic gasket 2. A height of the bead after deformation is equal to a difference in level between the part 3a abutting against the bead 2b of the metallic gasket 2 and the part 3b abutting against other than the bead 2b of the metallic gasket 2. Accordingly, an amount of deformation of the bead 2b is defined by the difference in level, thereby preventing an excess deformation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
