PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide socks each having optional opening tops allowing a wearer to select any opening tops depending on the instep height of shoes she (he) wears, designed so as not to be seen from the outside even when the shoes have low insteps, and excellent in air permeability without causing stuffy feeling. SOLUTION: The socks are each formed as follows: a toe part pocket is arranged so as to come in contact with a first ring part joining to a circularly knitted first opening top, a circularly knitted part is formed so as to be subsequent to the first opening top, a heel part pocket joining to part of wales in the finishing course of the circularly knitted part is formed at the opposite side of the toe part pocket in the finishing course of the circularly knitted part so as to be shifted by 180°from the toe part pocket, a space having only increased stitches is provided so as to follow the last course of the heel part pocket and part of the remaining wale in the finishing course of the circularly knitted part, and a second opening top having a second ring part is arranged so as to follow the last course of the space and the remaining wale of the circularly knitted part.
