PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moisture sensitive crimped conjugated fiber whose percentage of crimp increases by drying and decreases by absorbing moisture when used in woven and knit fabrics. SOLUTION: The moisture sensitive crimped conjugated fiber comprises a sulfonate group-containing modified polyethylene terephthalate and a nylon having≥50 equivalent/10<SP>6</SP>g terminal amino group concentration which are conjugated side by side. Preferably, the sulfonate group-containing modified polyethylene terephthalate is a copolymer containing 1-7 mole % 5-sodium sulfoisophthalate and a conjugated length L of the modified polyethylene terephthalate and a nylon 6 in the conjugate fiber satisfies the equation: 0.2×L<SB>0</SB><L<0.7×L<SB>0</SB>, wherein L<SB>0</SB>denotes the peripheral length of a cross sectional area of the fiber.
