METAL POWDER FOR POROUS SINTERED COMPACT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metal powder suitable for use in the manufacture of porous sintered compact. SOLUTION: The following are provided: the metal powder for porous sintered compact prepared by mixing main powder composed of stainless steel and sintering-aid powder composed of B-containing Fe-base alloy so that B content in the resultant metal powder becomes 0.03 to 0.20% by mass; the above metal powder for porous sintered compact using the main powder having 100 to 350μm average particle size; the above metal powder for porous sintered compact using the sintering-aid powder having≤44μm particle size; the above metal powder for porous sintered compact using the main powder having 100 to 350μm average particle size and also using the sintering-aid powder having≤44μm particle size. Further, the above porous metallic sintered compact using the above powder and having 25 to 35% open porosity is also provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
