PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support for packing in which rolls having a plurality of kinds of circular cross sections can be packed by one kind of the support for packing. SOLUTION: The support 1 for packing the roll can support the wound core of the roll formed through winding a sheet shaped elongated body around the wound core, at both the ends of the roll with a pair of the supports 1. This support 1 includes (1) a planar base 11, (2) a support 12 for supporting the wound core which is arranged at the center on the one surface of the planar base, (3) a part 13 for carrying a packaging material which is formed along the whole periphery of the side surface of the planar base. Further, the shape of the side surface of the support 12 which is formed of the whole part 13 for carrying the packaging material has a 4×n-gonal shape (n is an integer of 2 or more), and the respective sides of the 4×n-gonal shape contact internally with the respective four sides of n number of squares or rectangles which have the same or different length of the sides with each other.
