PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus wherein vibrations of a carriage and a printing head are suppressed. SOLUTION: The carriage 20 reciprocates in arrow B and C directions in accordance with the rotation of a belt 18. An inertial force at the reciprocation time is conducted to a driven pulley 44 and a tension spring 48 is vibrated by the conducted inertial force. The vibration of the tension spring 48 is conducted to the belt 18 and amplified. Accordingly, the belt 18 vibrates in arrow D and E directions and a roller 62 alike starts to vibrate in arrow D and E directions in accordance with the vibration. The vibration of the roller 62 is absorbed by expansion/contraction of a coil spring 68 in the arrow D and E directions. In other words, the vibration of the belt 18 is suppressed by a vibration suppressing unit 60. Since the vibration is thus suppressed by the vibration suppressing unit 60 even if the belt 18 vibrates in accordance with the reciprocation of the carriage 20, the vibration of the carriage 20 is suppressed.
