PURPOSE: A system for receiving audio of a satellite broadcast is provided to realize a digital audio broadcast of high quality at a low cost by separately receiving only audio signal from a satellite broadcasting signal. CONSTITUTION: A user selects a receiving channel and operations of an audio receiver by using a keypad(31a) of a front unit(31). A control unit(39) analyses a selection signal applied from the keypad for outputting a control signal for receiving the selected audio channel. A tuner(32) receives a broadcasting signal corresponding to the selected signal for outputting a satellite broadcasting signal to a demodulator(33). The demodulator demodulates the analog satellite broadcasting signal to a digital signal for outputting an electric signal corresponding to the digital signal. A decoder(34) decodes the encoded satellite broadcasting signal for outputting an electric signal corresponding to the satellite broadcasting signal. The control unit separates video and audio signals, and data from the decoded satellite broadcasting signal. An audio signal detector(36) analyzes the electric signal output from a MUX(Multiplexer)(35) for detecting only the audio signal for outputting an electric signal. A decoder(37) modulates the audio signal into PCM(Pulse Code Modulation) data for outputting the PCM data. An audio deck(38) decodes the PCM data for outputting the analog signal to external equipments.
