<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antireflection article which more reduces reflection of light by a fine rugged pattern on its surface and which improves visibility of display. <P>SOLUTION: The antireflection article 10 has a fine rugged pattern 2 formed on the surface of a base material 1. The profile of the fine rugged pattern is controlled in such a manner that the period PMAX of the most protruding part in the rugged pattern is equal to or less than the minimum wavelength λMIN of the wavelength region of visible rays in vacuum, that the cross section occupancy rate of the material moiety of the base material in a horizontal cross section continuously and gradually decreases from the most protruding part of the rugged pattern to the most recessing part, and that the profile 2M<SB>t</SB>of the top side Mt having the most protruding part 2t of the rugged pattern is made sharper than the profile 2M<SB>b</SB>of the bottom side Mb having the most recessing part 2b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
