<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device by which excellent display characteristics are obtained, as to a method for manufacturing the liquid crystal display device in which an aligning direction of liquid crystal molecules during a driving time is determined by using a polymer. <P>SOLUTION: In determining a pretilt angle and/or the aligning direction during the driving time of the liquid crystal molecules by sealing in a liquid crystal layer 6 containing a photo-polymerizable component between two substrates 2, 4 placed opposite to each other and polymerizing the polymerizable component with light irradiation under a specified light irradiation condition while applying voltage to the liquid crystal layer 6 under a specified voltage application condition, at least one out of the voltage application condition and the light irradiation condition is made to vary for every region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
