<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an image in which its boundary between an image element section and a transparent section is of flat, as a method for forming the image of a transflective liquid crystal display device in which its reflection section is formed by a partially missing image element section. <P>SOLUTION: The method for forming the image forms a transparent section by filing a transparent photosensitive resin in the cavities of the partially missing image element section through: a process A for forming an image element pattern consisting of an overall image element section and the partially missing image element section on a substrate; a process B for forming a transparent photosensitive resin layer on the formed overall image element section and the formed partially missing image element section, respectively; a process C for exposing the transparent photosensitive resin layer from its back; and a process D for developing the exposed transparent photosensitive resin layer. In the process C for exposing the transparent photosensitive resin layer from the back, a difference (A1-A2) between the absorbance (A1) of the image element section at an exposure wavelength region and the absorbance (A2) of the transparent photosensitive resin layer at the transparent section is in the range of -0.5 to +0.5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
