PURPOSE: Provided is a pharmaceutical composition for prevention and treatment of ophthalmic diseases which particularly contains 2-hydroxy-5-((4-(2-pyridinylamino)sulfonyl)azo)benzoic acid as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition containing 2-hydroxy-5-((4-(2-pyridinylamino)sulfonyl)azo)benzoic acid in the amount of 0.1-10000μM as an active ingredient has prevention and treatment effects on ophthalmic diseases selected from the group consisting of glaucoma and retinopathy.
