<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a drive wheel which prevents any stick slip noise, enhances the rigidity of the bearing device, and improves the durability. <P>SOLUTION: In this bearing device for a drive wheel which has a double row rolling bearing 2, a hub wheel 1 integrally having a wheel fitting flange 4 on the outer circumference of one end and having an inner rolling surface 1a on the outboard side and a cylindrical small diameter stepped part 1b, and a separate inner ring 7 externally fitted to the small diameter stepped part 1b, fixes the inner ring 7 by a seaming part 6 formed by plastically deforming the end of the small diameter stepped part 1b outwardly in the radial direction, and internally fits an outer joint member 14 having a shoulder part 16 abutted on an inner end face of the seaming part 6 and a shaft part 17 extending in the axial direction from the shoulder part 16 to the hub wheel 1 via a serration 17b and attachably/detachably couples it with the hub wheel 1, a serration 5 formed on the inner periphery of the hub wheel 1 is stopped by a butt part of the inner wheel 7 at maximum from an outboard side end part of the hub wheel 1, and the small diameter stepped part 1b is cylindrically fitted to the shaft part 17 of the outer joint member 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
