PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focusing device for accurately focusing, irrespective of the wavelength of object light. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a main CPU 35 for receiving the object light by an AF sensor unit 21 and calculating a focusing state with reference to a reference wavelength, and a lens ROM 71a and an EEPROM 43 for storing chromatic aberration compensation data for compensating the divergence of focus caused by the chromatic aberration of the optical system of the AF sensor unit 21, and in the main CPU 35, the main color of the object light is measured by a light/color measuring IC 17, and the focusing state measured by the AF sensor unit 21 is corrected based on the measured main color and the chromatic aberration compensation data read from the respective ROMs 71a and 43.
