FIELD: food engineering. SUBSTANCE: coffee machine has boiling chamber base adapted for receiving cartridge and fitted with device for perforating cartridge base upon closing of boiling chamber. Boiling chamber casing has upper and lower parts, which together define boiling chamber and are capable of axial displacement with respect to one another. Upper part of boiling chamber is offset by means of spring so as to be moved from lower part of boiling chamber. Upper part of boiling chamber is equipped with protective means preventing access to perforating members, when upper part of boiling chamber is in its upper initial position. Upper part of boiling chamber may be moved in conjunction with protective means from upper position to lower operating position, wherein perforating member provides cartridge base with elongated slots.
