<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission, in which nonuniformity in load acting on a rolling element is corrected to enhance reliable durability of a power roller bearing, by lowering rigidity of a contact portion of the rolling element with a raceway surface. <P>SOLUTION: In the toroidal type continuously variable transmission adopting a tapered roller bearing 32 as a power roller bearing, an inner ring side contact portion is a line contact and an outer ring side contact portion is a point contact, in a contact portion of a tapered roller 32c with an inner ring raceway surface 32a and a contact portion of the tapered roller 32c with an outer ring raceway surface 32b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
