<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DNA-protecting agent derived from a new natural material, and healthy food. <P>SOLUTION: This DNA-protecting agent contains a pine bark extract. Especially, the DNA-protecting agent contains ≥20 wt.% OPC (oligomeric prothocyanidine) and ≥5 wt.% catechin is preferable. By adding the DNA- protecting agent to a food, the healthy food for protecting DNA is provided and useful as the food for protecting the DNA in the body.
