<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbed dose distribution measuring device capable of measuring accurately and speedily the distribution of absorbed dose in the radiotherapy treatment of cancers particularly in an IMRT phantom. <P>SOLUTION: In this absorbed dose distribution measuring device, a radiation beam 201 is applied to a phantom composed of a transparent plastic bloc 203a, a plastic block 203b, and a 0.15-1.0 mm thick planar plastic scintillator 202 sandwiched between the two blocks 203a, 203b, and then the scintillator 202 emits light with intensity proportional to the absorbed dose. Light intensity distribution at an end face of the scintillator 202 is measured by an image measuring device 204, and this enables the instant determination of the secondary absorbed dose distribution at the position of the scintillator 202. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
