PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable precise position detection by preventing the peeling and the lift of a scale tape part stuck on a moving member. SOLUTION: A lens barrel includes a fixed cylinder 11 having an opening 11c, a rotary cylinder 12 rotatably arranged in the fixed cylinder 11 and having a rotation range between a first and a second hinged ends, a magnetic scale tape 15 stuck on the circumference of the rotary cylinder 12 and having a scale as position information, an MR sensor 14 arranged at the opening 11c of the fixed cylinder 11 for reading the scale of the magnetic scale tape 15, and a pressing means which presses down the ends of the magnetic scale tape 15 at positions where the rotary cylinder 12 is at the first and second hinged ends by arranging the ends 15a and 15b of the magnetic scale tape 15 outside the corners 11a and 11b of the opening 11c of the fixed cylinder 11.
