PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a navigation system to output appropriate route guidance by displaying a prereceived full route map when the system is not able to receive guide information. SOLUTION: The navigation system has an information center which prepares the guide information and full route map information by searching a route based on the present location and destination of a vehicle received from the on-vehicle device of the vehicle, and transmits the prepared guide information and full route map information to the on-vehicle device of the vehicle in a divided state. The system also has the on-vehicle device which transmits the present location and destination of its own vehicle, receives the divided guide information and full route map information, and, when the device is not able to receive the guide information, outputs the full route map.
