PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite soft magnetic sintered material having high strength, high density, and high resistivity and also to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The composite soft magnetic sintered material with high strength, high density and high resistivity has a sintered structure in which hydrides of rare-earth elements including Y, Zr hydrides, Ti hydrides, Hf hydrides, V hydrides, Ta hydrides or Pd hydrides (represented by metal hydrides, hereinafter) exist among iron particles. In the method for manufacturing the composite soft magnetic sintered material with high strength, high density and high resistivity, 0.05 to 5.0 mass% of powder of the metal hydrides having 1 to 10μm average particle size is added to iron powder having 10 to 200μm average particle size to undergo mixing, and the resultant powder mixture is compacted, sintered in a nonoxidizing atmosphere at 900 to 1,200°C, and then heated in a hydrogen atmosphere at 150 to 800°C to undergo hydrogen treatment.
