The basin is assembled of four walls (3) made of glass and held in a metal frame (1), a bottom sheet (4) and several legs (24). A treadmill (5), positioned at the bottom (4) of the basin and guided around drums (6) located at both ends is driven by a motor (9) accommodated inside one of the drums (6). Two columns (14) provided with slide bearings (16, 17) and joined to the inner surface of one of the walls (3) serve as vertical guides (12) and as parts of a height adjustment mechanism (13). The spindle (21) is moved by a drive (22) attached to the lower surface of the bottom (4). The space between both ends of the treadmill (5) and the walls (3) as well as the spaces beside the belt (7) are covered (26, 27) in order to prevent the limbs of the user (human or animal) from getting caught in the gaps.
