PURPOSE: A digital camera system having a moving picture module is provided to photograph a moving picture by connecting a video module to a digital camera for a still image. CONSTITUTION: An image input and output unit(12) receives an image from a CCD(Charge Coupled Device) or CMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) element for outputting the image. A display unit(13) outputs the image on a screen. An image compression restoring unit(14) compresses a still image at a moment that a photographing signal output from the image input and output unit is inputted. A memory(17) stores the compressed image. A storage managing unit(16) stores the image inputted through the image compression restoring unit or deletes, changes, and reads image files stored in the memory. An input and output interface(19) transports the image data to the outside, and receives image data from the outside. A second image input and output unit(22) receives a moving picture from the image input and output unit of a digital camera(10). A moving picture compressing unit compresses the moving picture. A second input and output interface(29) transports the compressed moving picture data to the input and output interface of the digital camera. A moving picture switch(21) transports an operating signal to the moving picture compressing unit to compress the moving picture.
