<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calcined magnesia briquette in which prescribed strength is rapidly developed, and the occurrence of fine dust can be prevented. <P>SOLUTION: The production method has a stage where fired magnesia powder or a substance containing fired magnesia powder and CaO components is mixed with an assistant increasing the hardening strength of hydrates, and water, and the mixture is formed to obtain a formed body having a prescribed shape, and a stage where the formed body is cured to obtain a calcined magnesia briquette.
