<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a radiation device. <P>SOLUTION: In this night vision system for a vehicle having the radiation device for generating an infrared ray, a detector for photographing an infrared image, and a display for visualizing the infrared image for a vehicle driver, of which the detector is cooperated with the radiation device, the radiation device 1 is provided with a semiconductor radiation source 4, and the radiation source is controllable to emit the infrared ray 14 time-discretely. The semiconductor radiation source 4 is preferably controlled to emit the infrared ray 14 in a form of a periodical radiation pulse 13. A pulse time tp of the radiation pulse 13 is 1/10 of a periodic time T or less, preferably 1/20 or less, and average emission power Ap is preferably about 1/10 of average emission power Ak in a continuous operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
