PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming method by which the image of a high quality is stably recorded in a simple image recording process by using water- color ink by which the sticking of ink to a liquid non-sticking area is solved and an environmental problem is eliminated, and to provide the water-color ink and a recording body therefor. SOLUTION: By the image forming method, a copied image is obtained by performing development by selectively sticking the water-color ink to a liquid sticking area (latent image area) whose surface energy is high by irradiating the surface of the recording body having a characteristic by which the contact angle of liquid is changed by the change of surface energy due to light irradiation with the light of wavelengthλ1 (150 nm-950 nm) and forming the liquid sticking area because the contact angle of the liquid is relatively lowered or also by transferring a developed image to a body to be transferred, and the surface layer of the recording body is constituted of ink repulsive polymer and an optical surface energy conversion material having the characteristic by which the contact angle of the liquid is changed by the change of the surface energy due to the light irradiation.
