PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column device for an automobile. SOLUTION: The steering column device has an outer jacket tube 2, an inner jacket tube 3 movable in the outer jacket tube 2 and a regulating device containing a drive unit and servo parts which are effective between two jacket tubes in order to move one jacket tube to another jacket tube. The drive unit 8 is releasably fixed to a guiding device 14 and the drive unit 8 is movably attached along the guiding device 14. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
