METHOD FOR PRODUCING ALKYLDICHLOROSILANE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an alkyldichlorosilane by reaction between an alkyl chloride and metal silicon in a high yield and a method for simultaneously producing the alkyldichlorosilane and an alkyltrichlorosilane. SOLUTION: The method for producing the alkyldichlorosilane or a cycloalkyldichlorosilane represented by the formula RSiHCl2(3) comprises reacting a mixture of an alkyl chloride or a cycloalkyl chloride represented by (A) the formula R1Cl (1) (R is a straight-chain or branched 3-10C alkyl group or a 3-10C cycloalkyl group) and a branched alkyl chloride or a cycloalkyl chloride generating hydrogen chloride or capable of generating hydrogen chloride at a reaction temperature and, represented by (B) the formula R1Cl (2) (R1is hydrogen, a branched 4-6C alkyl group or a 4-6C cycloalkyl group) with metal silicon in the presence of a copper catalyst.
